Welcome to the Health Education and Social Affairs (HESA) Department at Majuro Atoll Local Government's Official Website.
As the Executive Director of the Health Education and Social Affairs (HESA) Department, I extend a warm welcome to you.
Our department is dedicated to nurturing the well-being and social fabric of our community within Majuro Atoll Local Government. We believe in the transformative power of health education and social initiatives to foster vitality, knowledge, and a stronger societal framework.
Our mission encompasses a holistic approach, addressing health education, healthcare initiatives, and social welfare programs. Through various endeavors, we aim to bridge the gap between aspirations and accomplishments, making health, education, and community support accessible, meaningful, and impactful for all.

HESSA Divisions
HESSA has three divisions:
- 1. Sanitation Department
- 2. Women's Affairs
- 3. Teachers Division
Sanitation Department
The Sanitation Department works with every store, restaurant, and the community. They collaborate with the Ministry of Health to check every food item's expiration date in every store on Majuro. They also work with restaurants to ensure clean water and kitchens. Additionally, they check the health certificates of every cook in every restaurant. Sanitation also plays a role in preventing loitering throughout Majuro Atoll.
Women's Affairs
Women's Affairs involves every women's activity within the community, the National Government, and the Local Government.
Teachers Division
The Teachers Division provides support to some private schools in Majuro Atoll.
